Learning about Microscopy

March 9, 2010

If you work in a lab somewhere, you have any kind of microscope and you use it quite often you probably already know about MicroscopyU. The Website is managed by Nikon and I use it a lot. If you have to do any sort of imaging with microscope I recommend you use it too.

They have all sorts of tutorials and articles with all kinds of diagrams that will help you understand the basic and not so basic concepts about optics. No matter which type of imaging you are doing (fluorescence, confocal, etc) you will find some information there.

The one thing that they could have more is a section about maintenance. I am always hungry for some advice about how to keep my equipment in pristine condition… even if I can’t always follow it. For those of you that like me prefer watching a video to reading here’s an article in Jove about microscope maintenance.
